“What we were trying to do was to capture a modern aesthetic”, explains Mr. Munge, “But modern doesn’t have to mean white on white – it can also mean layering of neutral colours and warm textures to create depth.” Mr. Munge’s suites present exquisite snapshots of a lifestyle that is urban yet cozy, luxurious but lived-in, timeless but also exceptionally modern. “We were not out to create an austere art gallery feel here,” says Mr. Munge, “Instead, we hope the suites we designed inspire purchasers of the potential they can realize within the space” Indeed, a real warmth and chicness emanate from the space. It’s a look that will resonate with many.
The kitchen is also thoughtfully designed as a place for socializing. Each suite’s kitchen showcases glass backsplashes throughout and is also equipped with an island complete with polished granite countertop. These gorgeous details are normally upgrades at other condos but at King Blue, they are just the standard details. Panel-covered, European appliances allow for a seamless transition between the open concept living room and kitchen. “Another great feature is that we’ve built in drawers for storage where there are normally just cupboards,” enthuses Mr. Munge, “It’s the little design details that make a space like this so functional and easy to live in.”
All rooms stun with gorgeous views and floor-to-ceiling windows. Undeniably, one of the best places to appreciate this cityscape is in the bedroom. For Mr. Munge, the calm and tranquility of this space is best conveyed through the various seductive textures – rugs, sheets, pillows, wall color. It all combines to become an inspiration for buyers who might imagine themselves in a space like this one. “There’s about seven different fabrics on that bed alone,” laughs Mr. Munge, “But we’re not trying to confuse people with design. It’s got to feel holistic and warm.” For those extra punches of colour, Mr. Munge suggests these can come through in accent pillows, artwork or even an accent carpet.
Lounging in this environment, it’s hard not to wish that you lived here. And you can. Prices start just in the mid-$200,000s.
