Kicking Off the New Golden Era in Yorkville
By Lucas on Nov 14, 2014
One of the most highly anticipated condo developments in Toronto is Minto Yorkville Park. On November 15th, Minto is opening the doors for the Preview Opening; guests at this weekend’s event will get to see the new presentation centre with unveiled new renderings and a scale model of the building. We caught up with Natascha Pieper, Director of Marketing at Minto, to learn more about why prospective homebuyers are flocking to the new Yorkville condo.

NIH: How has Yorkville transformed over the last few years? How will Minto Yorkville Park promote/support this transformation?
NP: The Yorkville and Bloor West neighbourhood is undergoing a really exciting transition, which I think attributes in a big way to the excitement for this project. The neighbourhood is maturing and becoming quite refined. We’re seeing restaurants like Buca and boutiques like Zane moving into this upscale heart of the city and a new generation of top luxury retailers, including the brand new opening of Holt Renfrew’s Men’s Shop. There’s also a two-storey Apple store coming soon! We're seeing really high-end yoga and fitness studios popping up alongside trendy new juice bars like the Good Press, which I think is a testament to the fresh and active culture of the neighbourhood. Residents at Minto Yorkville Park will also be treated to a private fitness studio within the building’s state-of-the-art amenities.

If you lived in Yorkville, what would the perfect day be?
My perfect day in Yorkville would start with a visit to MoRoCo for coffee and, of course, a chocolate on the side. Then I would wander over to Holts for some shopping therapy. Afterwards, I would leave my bag with the Yorkville Park concierge and take a stroll over to the Lux spa on Bellair for a mani / pedi. I would finish off the day over cocktails with the ladies at Ciao Wine Bar on Yorkville and Avenue. Then of course, I would head home to Yorkville Park for a relaxing steam in the amenity space before bed.
The art deco inspired interiors captured the attention of many at the Friends & Family Preview. What are a few of the features and finishes that will really stand out in the suites or amenity spaces?
The amenity spaces are unbelievably beautiful. I think they will really exceed purchaser expectations. I love all of the gold details and the intricate embossed ceiling moulding in the party room that is inspired by a traditional deco pattern: the décor is exquisite. There is so much gorgeous space to entertain within the building: Yorkville Park epitomizes a refined urban lifestyle.

How many people have registered and why do you believe the development has received such a positive response?
We’ve had over 2,000 people register within a two-month period. And when you consider there are only 200 units, we expect that this project will sell incredibly fast. I think the amount of registrations speaks to the unbeatable location and the prestige of the project. Location is a huge sales feature.

With prices starting in the low $400,000s, Minto is giving homebuyers the chance to own in a luxurious, established neighbourhood for under the average price for the area. What is the inspiration behind this price point?
This building is priced well for such a premium location, offering a variety of suites that appeal to people that want to live in such an exclusive neighbourhood. At the same time, it’s a great investment because the purchaser’s value will continue to appreciate.
The preview opening is coming up. What kind of buyers do you expect to see at the presentation centre on the weekend?
We have many people that have been waiting a long time to attend the preview event. This development is attracting many end-users that want to have a second home in the family, as well as buyers who see the value and investment potential in such a great location. There are a lot of buildings going up in the area that are over 400 plus units, which is double the density of Yorkville Park and many people prefer to live in a boutique-style building.
