June: Home Gardening Month

We are finally graced by warm weather here in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), and what better way to celebrate than to devote a whole month to Home Gardening!
During the spring and summer months, the backyard is prime living space. It’s where the kids play catch and soccer, where the dog runs freely, where you barbecue dinner and eat on your deck or patio, and maybe you even have a pool. The best way to accent this space and make it even more enjoyable is to plant flowers and other greenery.
Condo dwellers - don’t think we’ve forgotten about you. Many condo balconies have more than enough space to grow herbs, have a plant or two, and maybe even grow vegetables!

Home Garden Photo Contest!
Starting June 16, we will be accepting submissions for our Home Garden Photo Contest. All you have to do is share a photo of your garden or a part of your garden with us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the hashtag #GardenContestNiH.
We want to see your new flowers, trees, shrubs, stone pathways, pool hedging, everything!
One winner will be selected based off the total amount of the photo’s shares, likes, and retweets. The winner will receive a $100 gift certificate to Sheridan Nurseries, as well as a signed book by Canada’s gardening guru, Mark Cullen.
The winner will be announced Monday, June 30, 2014.
