It’s time to start looking at Canary Park Condos again!
By Lucas on Aug 26, 2015
Now that the Pan Am/Parapan Am Games have come to a close, it’s time to redirect our focus back onto the Canary District (Athlete’s Village), specifically Canary Park Condos, the second residential phase in the incredible master-planned community.
Leading up to the games, we had many opportunities to catch up with President of Dundee Kilmer, Jason Lester, about the curated retail spaces in the Canary District, as well as construction progress. Months before the Games were set to commence, Lester told us that construction was on track and on budget, so we’re expecting the rest of construction at Canary Park to go very smoothly over the next few months.
You’re probably thinking, ‘wait, I thought Canary Park was already completed for the athletes,’ but what a lot of people don’t realize is that the condo was only partially completed in order for the athletes to have a place to sleep, rest, and prepare for the Games. The suites and amenities were never fully completed. Only the drywall, lighting, bathrooms, and temporary flooring were installed throughout the interiors. It will now take Dundee Kilmer about six months to complete the interiors and have them ready for the new homebuyers, which means Canary Park and Canary District Condos should be ready for occupancy by early 2016.
The units at Canary Park
Situated adjacent to the new 18-acre Corktown Common, Canary Park is one of your best bets in Toronto’s growing east end. The park has walking trails, a pavilion, a playground, a toboggan hill, and plenty of green space. The trails connect to the Don Valley Trail system, providing easy access to 1,800 km of pedestrian and cyclist pathways.
Canary Park features a wide range of floor plans, from studios to three+dens, with sizes reaching up to more than 1,200 square feet. There are also two-bedroom and two+den townhomes available, all of which are more than 1,200 square feet, with the largest being 1,380 square feet.
Some of the notable features and finishes at Canary Park include 9’ ceilings, high quality engineered hardwood flooring, quartz countertops, custom designed modern European cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, custom designed islands/tables in the kitchens, porcelain tile, deep soaker tubs, and LEED Certified plumbing fixtures. The units are also set up with fibre optic cabling, so residents will have some of the fastest Internet speeds available in Toronto.
In addition to being located next to Toronto’s newest park, Canary Park will also offer many other amenities, such as a hotel inspired lounge, two party rooms (each with a full catering kitchenette and dining area), an outdoor lounge and pool with views of Corktown Common, as well as a fitness centre with a yoga studio.
