INFOGRAPHIC: What Condo Buyers are Looking for in a New Home

Earlier this year, we asked condo buyers and potential condo buyers to take a survey that outlined a few key factors that contribute to the decision to purchase a condo.

64 percent of our respondents were female and 36 percent were male, with the majority being between the ages of 25 and 34 years. While more than half of those surveyed fell in between those ages, we still had respondents from 18 years of age, all the way up to 74.

One surprising finding is that only around 50 percent of the people surveyed stated that they would walk or take transit to work if they lived in a downtown condo. A shocking 27 percent said they would still drive their cars, but luckily, around 20 percent would bike to their places of business.

Last June, Sam Reiss posted an article about the health benefits of living near nature and discussed what developers could do to contribute more to the city’s community and park spaces. When asked how important a condo’s proximity to a park is, 44 percent said they would prefer to live near a park and another 30 percent felt it was absolutely necessary to live near one.

We also asked condo buyers about their budget, the preferred height of buildings and towers, whether they had children or not, their desired square footage, and what amenities were crucial. But we laid out that information in a much more interesting manner! See the infographic below for all the details!
