Hundreds attend the VIP opening of SweetLife Condos + Towns!
By Lucas on Nov 17, 2015
Last weekend, we attended the VIP opening of SweetLife Condos + Towns by Your Home Developments. This new Toronto condo and towns project has attracted a lot of attention, not just because of its flashy branding but because of the very affordable pricing!
Over 350 interested prospective homebuyers registered and booked appointments for the weekend VIP opening. The first appointment started at 11:30 am, but there were many people lined up long before that.
The condo units at SweetLife range from 474 to 1,022 square feet, with prices starting at $199,900. The floor plan layouts range from one- to three-bedroom, so there were a few families checking out the units.
The average price per square foot for the condo units is in the low $400s, which is pretty amazing considering the average price per square foot of a new condo unit in the Greater Toronto Area hit a record high in September 2015 of $575 per square foot.
The townhomes at SweetLife are all two-bedroom units, ranging from 969 to 1,442 square feet, with prices starting at $421,900. The average price per square foot for the townhomes was even lower, coming in around the mid $300s.
Even at affordable prices, you can still have stylish, high quality features and finishes. A few of the standout features and finishes include 9’ ceilings (8.5’ in the condo units), engineered laminate flooring, finely crafted cabinetry with a variety of finishes from which to choose, granite countertops, integrated breakfast bars, and stainless steel appliances.
SweetLife will offer a number of exclusive amenities, but Your Home Developments has been very strategic with the planning of the amenities floors in order to keep maintenance fees low. For condo units, the maintenance fees will be 39 cents per square foot, and only 20 cents per square foot for the townhomes. Compare those prices to downtown condo developments where you’ll most likely pay over 50 cents per square foot.
The ground floor amenities include a welcoming lobby and lounge, as well as a beautiful courtyard. The rest of the amenities are on the second and third floors, which feature a state-of-the-art gym with a yoga centre, and a private lounge with fireplace and dining area. You basically have an area to be healthy and active, and an area for entertaining large parties. What more could you ask for?
SweetLife Condos + Towns in Toronto
Located at Morningside and Kingston Road, SweetLife Condos + Towns is in a quiet but busy neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is more relaxed than downtown Toronto because of the low-rise housing, mature trees, and quiet streets, but there is still a lot of activity thanks to the great deal of area amenities.
There is a No Frills right across the street, so you don’t have to worry about driving to get groceries. The University of Toronto Scarborough campus is only a few minutes north, as well as Centennial College, so student life adds a vibrancy to the neighbourhood.
For fun and socializing, there are a number of restaurants along Kingston Road, including all-day breakfast spots, bars and pubs, Italian cuisine, and other great dining choices. If you’re the outdoorsy type, then you will appreciate the close proximity to Morningside Park, which has many bike trails, fire pits, numerous picnic sites, a playground, a splash pad, and a fieldhouse.
