What is the future of home design, marketing, and sales?
By Lucas on Jan 04, 2016
Since it’s the beginning off the year, we can’t help but think about what 2016 holds for the new home industry. What new condo towers will be announced? What city will be the hot spot for new low-rise housing? Will inventory levels improve? Will prices rise? Will affordability continue to be an issue?
With all of that in mind, we want to take a closer look at what the future holds, but we also want to take it a couple steps further and cast our gaze into the distant future and speculate on what innovations and inventions might influence the way homes are sold, purchased, and designed.
What could influence the way homes are sold? New technology or technology becoming more affordable, such as virtual reality, could definitely make a big difference in both the new home and resale markets.

How about the way homes are purchased? Will we continue to see people camping out for days to get the first look at a new release in their desired location, or will builders and developers shift more to online appointments. We’ve already seen some builders using email to schedule appointments so that purchasers don’t need to wait in line.
Then how will home design change over the years? How will builders, developers, interior designers, and architects appeal to a younger demographic, while at the same time catering to ageing Boomers? Will we start to see more smart features becoming standard? Will sustainability continue to rise on homeowners’ priority lists?
Throughout the month of January, we want to focus on all of this and more in greater detail. Will 2016 be a milestone year for the new home industry? We can’t wait to find out!
Stay tuned for many interesting features!
