Homebuyers still flocking to new fall low-rise openings and releases
By Lucas on Oct 23, 2015
According to Trimart Research Corporation’s latest report, homebuyers are still flocking to fall low-rise releases and openings across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). With the supply of new low-rise homes at an all-time low, homebuyers are attending openings with a sense of urgency. We’re seeing longer line ups, higher prices, and more people willing to take on more debt with low interest rates. Will there be enough openings to sustain the GTA’s new low-rise market through the traditionally slow winter months?
Listed below are a few notable low-rise sites of the last month:
Wildflowers - via Mattamy Homes
Placing first on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list is Wildflowers, a Kitchener community by Mattamy Homes that saw 44 sales last month. Wildflowers features a wide variety of home types, including village and garden suites, village homes, two-storey townhomes, and 30’, 36’, and 43’ detached homes. The homes range from 1,001 to 3,164 square feet with prices starting as low as $194,990. Even the detached homes are starting in the low $300,000s, so this is proof that there are still great options out there for first-time homebuyers.
Summerlyn Village - via Great Gulf
Coming in second with 23 sales last month is Summerlyn Village in Bradford by Great Gulf Homes. This community features 40’ and 50’ detached homes ranging from 1,880 to 3,990 square feet, with prices starting at $600,000. There are also 36’ detached home designs, but they are temporarily sold out. You will have to stay tuned for an announcement of a new release!
Kingmeadow - via Minto
The third spot is taken by Kingmeadow, an Oshawa community by Minto that had 19 sales last month. Kingmeadow features a large selection of townhomes ranging from 1,775 to 1,862 square feet, with prices starting at $397,990. The community also features a wide collection of 36’ and 43’ detached homes, but they are currently sold out. This is another one you need to keep your eye on!
Greenbrook Village - via Lakeview Homes
With 15 sales last month, Lakeview Homes’ Shelburne community, Greenbrook Village, slips into the fourth position. The community features 40’ detached homes, ranging from 1,160 to 3,240 square feet, with prices starting as low as $279,990.
Creekside - via Sundial Homes
The final spot on the Trimart Hot Spots list is taken by Creekside, a community in East Gwillimbury by Sundial Homes. There were 10 sales last month at Creekside. The community features 32’, 40’, and 50’ detached homes, ranging from 1,348 to 5,133 square feet, with prices starting at $559,990. With prices for a 50’ lot starting under $1 million, this is a decent opportunity for families looking to move up into a larger home.
