Ocean Club Etobicoke Graywood Developments Beaverhall Homes

Those seeking luxurious resort-style living in a cosmopolitan setting will discover the home of their dreams in this ideal locale. To showcase the quality and panache of the suites at Ocean Club, Graywood Developments Ltd. and Beaverhall Homes enlisted well-respected industry professionals Melandro Quilatan and Tania Richardson, principal partners in Tomas Pearce Interior Design Consulting Inc., to appoint the spectacular model suite.

Their invigorating approach to designing and furnishing this must-see model involves a fresh take on resort-style living. “Everyone should be able to come home to this kind of living on the water,” Richardson says. “Our blush, ivory and mocha colour palette is inspired by the 2010 spring fashion hues. It’s warm and inviting, appeals to both genders, and it’s carefree without being kitschy. When you think about it, staying in a resort awakens all five senses, and that’s what we did here by using a variety of textures, colours, materials and accessories. The effect is luxurious while being comfortable.”

“Our goal was to take this Florida-style design and make it metropolitan, to combine the concepts of the waterfront and the city – and it’s been a lot of fun creating the look,” Quilatan says. “We found a happy marriage between the fashion-forward interiors Toronto is known for in the design industry and the resort feeling.” Black accents in the spacious kitchen contrast the soft colours on the walls, cabinets and island, and the grey, weathered teak flooring that runs through the suite grounds the contemporary look with a “deck” ambience. “The kitchen and dining room are centred in the suite,” Quilatan says. “The light fixture is translucent and provides a nice counterpoint to the straight lines in the surroundings.” A Jay Hodgins painting adorns the gallery wall in the kitchen, and his works are also included in other rooms in the model.

Quilatan adds that he and Richardson felt it was important to use full-size furnishings in the model. “In the living room, we used a large oversized rectilinear leather sofa with two Ralph Lauren club chairs to show people how they can live here with their own furnishings.” The den continues the vacation feeling with its mix of materials including chrome, glass and lacquered surfaces mixed with organic details such as hides and wood. “This room is a beautiful example of how much furniture you can get into a compact space without it being cluttered,” Richardson points out. “The floating glass bookshelves help achieve an airy feel, and the pendant globe light made of perforated metal is gorgeous at night.”

In the master bedroom, the designers again combined luxury and whimsy with a silk and pearlescent leather headboard and unique accessories from around the world such as the funky stool at the leather and chrome make-up table. “In the second bedroom, we used textures to show what you can do with a smaller space,” Richardson says. “The felted wool braided rug, faux fur cushions and African headdress wall hanging help to make this simple room interesting, and the reflective night tables create a spacious feel.” Even the bathrooms are subtle and calming with interesting visual and textural details.

Suites feature fully integrated kitchens custom designed by Tomas Pearce with extended-height uppers and valance lighting; granite or engineered quartz counters; an extended breakfast bar on island (as per plan); porcelain, ceramic or glass tile backsplash; and full-size, built-in appliances. Features also include 9-foot ceilings (as per plan); wide-plank engineered hardwood flooring; floor-to-ceiling Low-E windows; and a balcony or terrace (as per plan).

Residents will have exclusive use of amenities that are rarely seen in condominiums, including a trendy bistro with outdoor patio at the base of the tower – sure to become THE culinary destination for the area. Tomas Pearce also created the chic amenities such as the grand three-storey glass-walled lobby, indoor salt-water pool and water-cascading hot tub with outdoor deck, landscaped outdoor terrace with a barbecue, fitness centre, TV lounge and dining room with outdoor terraces, billiards room, and two pet-grooming rooms. The 37-storey glass building and an 8-storey boutique residence will be surrounded by 19,000 square feet of landscaping.

Ocean Club offers studios, one-bedroom, one-bedroom + den, two-bedroom and two-bedroom + den suites, with prices ranging from just the low $200,000s.
