Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area partnered with The Daniels Corporation to build their first Partner family home in the town of Aurora! This beautiful townhome on Bayview Avenue is the new home for a happy family of four. Celebrating the success of their first GTA project, Habitat volunteers, corporate sponsors and community partners celebrated with the Lippa family with a key dedication. The project began when Habitat gained possession of a partially completed three-bedroom, two-bath Daniels FirstHome townhouse early 2014. Taking on the responsibility of finishing interior framing, insulation and drywall, Habitat volunteers worked vigorously to get the home into tip-top shape and ready for move in this summer. Habitat for Humanity Toronto Partner Family Sid and Rose Lippa along with their daughters Loryanne and Lucyanne place a ‘sold’ sign on their new home in Daniels FirstHome™ Aurora Community.Cesidio and Rosemarie Lippa are grateful to have moved into their new home where they can feel safe and proud to raise their two young children, “a place where you can feel comfortable cooking breakfast in your pajamas.”Before moving, the Lippa family resided in a small, mold infested environment where there was hardly enough room for their children, Loryanne and Lueyanne to play. Reaching out to the program and receiving help has provided the Lippa’s with a brand new Habitat home, giving them a fresh start in a healthy and safe environment. The Lippa Family joined by the dignitaries from Habitat for Humanity, The Daniels Corporation and The Town of Aurora“The Daniels team was excited when we talked to Habitat GTA about the opportunity to have them participate in our FirstHome™ Aurora community,” said Don Pugh, Vice President of The Daniels Corporation. “With every FirstHome™ Community we have built to date, we have asked the local Habitat affiliates if they would like to be involved. The rules are continually changing, putting more pressure on our ability to provide affordable homeownership. If we feel these pressures as a large builder-developer, then they are most certainly felt by Habitat for Humanity. We’ve always known that Habitat Partner Families would feel at home in our Firsthome™ Communities because they have worked equally as hard to get here.”For more information about how you can change lives with Habitat for Humanity GTA too, click here.
