Grand Opening of Stollery Estates in Markham

We are pleased to announce that the grand opening of Kylemore Communities’ Stollery Estates in Markham was a huge success!
At the grand opening, we had a chance to catch up with the President of Kylemore, Patrick O’Hanlon, who told us that at the special preview event earlier in March, they sold 13 of the 26 homes at Stollery Estates. After the grand opening, we assume less than 50% of the phase remains.
Selling 50% of a phase at a preview is impressive on its own, but did we mention that the preview was on March 12? The day the Greater Toronto Area got hit by a blizzard! Even though the weather was less than favourable, hundreds showed up. A prospective Chinese buyer approached O’Hanlon at the preview and told him, “In their culture, if there’s a natural disaster or bad weather, it means something great is going to happen.” We guess he was right!
Stollery Estates is the final phase of the West Village portion of Kylemore’s master-planned Angus Glen community. “It’s set amongst the ravine and the Stollery Pond, right in the middle of the community near Arthur Stollery’s original house,” O’Hanlon explained. “Arthur Stollery was Gordon Stollery’s father who bought up all these lands about 40 years ago. On these lands and from that house, Arthur kept championship cattle and horses; then in 1995, he opened the world championship Angus Glen Golf Course. Hence the name Stollery Estates - it’s a very special parcel of land here in our community.”
