Forest Hill on the Green Sells out in Three Weeks!
By Lucas on Nov 19, 2014
Richmond Hill’s new low-rise market heated up over the last couple months, especially with Heathwood Homes’ Forest Hill on the Green community selling out in just three weeks!
Forest Hill on the Green featured 113 luxury detached homes on 43’ and 50’ lots. Prices started at just under $1.15 million, and they sold like hot cakes. A few of the notable interior features and finishes at Forest Hill on the Green include 10’ ceilings, oak plank flooring and solid oak stairs, granite countertops and Thermador appliances in the kitchens, imported ceramic tile, and freestanding soaker tubs and frameless glass showers in the ensuites.
“What is most gratifying is that more than 30 percent of the purchasers are previous Heathwood Homes buyers,” said Heathwood Homes President, Hugh Heron. “It’s great to see that they are obviously pleased with their current homes and were very happy to purchase from Heathwood again.”
Heathwood dedicated one-third of the total community property to open space and parkland, a community amenity that we recently discovered is very important to homebuyers. But that’s only one reason why we think homebuyers flocked to Forest Hill on the Green. Two other factors that played a significant role in the community’s success are the prime location and the Green Home Energy Program offered by Heathwood.
On the edge of everything in Richmond Hill
Located near Yonge and Jefferson Side Road, Forest Hill on the Green is situated in the northern part of Richmond Hill, which borders King City and Aurora. So, in addition to all the amazing and convenient neighbourhood amenities around Forest Hill on the Green, homebuyers also have access to the breathtaking scenery of the neighbouring areas and their unique amenities.
When it comes to life in the suburbs, there are four things that families look for in a neighbourhood. They want to be close to schools, grocery stores, transit and main roads, and green space. Heathwood already nailed the green space aspect by creating a good chunk within the community, and there is also the Summit Golf & Country Club directly adjacent to Forest Hill, and Saigeon Trail is a beautiful place for a creekside, autumn stroll.

Families with young children were also attracted to the community because of the great selection of nearby schools. Macleod’s Landing Public School is within walking distance, and Beynon Fields Public School and Moraine Hills Public School are just a few extra minutes away.
For groceries, most of the residents of Forest Hill will probably frequent the nearby Sobeys because it is the closest option, but if Sobeys doesn’t have what they’re looking for, they can just scoot down Yonge to Loblaws and Longos, and there are even a few Halal meat grocers in the neighbourhood.
We wouldn’t be surprised if a large amount of the homebuyers at Forest Hill work outside the neighbourhood because the community is located directly between the 404, 407, and 400, making it very easy to travel throughout the Greater Toronto Area and beyond.
Heathwood’s Green Home Energy Program
For What Homebuyers Want Month, we have posted a few features about the importance of building sustainable, new communities. Without a doubt, green features in homes will be desired amongst Generations Y and Z, and Heathwood is proving that even the homebuyers of today appreciate such features.
Through Heathwood’s Green Home Energy Program, Forest Hill features a variety of sustainable features, such as solar rough-ins for future photovoltaic and solar heat assist, rough-ins for future greywater systems, energy efficient lighting and furnaces, extra insulation, energy recovery ventilators and rough-ins in the garage for electric vehicle charging stations.
