FIVE Condos off to an incredible start
By on Jun 30, 2010
FIVE Condos at 5 St. Joseph opened this past weekend to great enthusiasm as would-be buyers filled the Presentation Centre, eager to learn more about all that this hip new condominium has to offer. The fantastic location, striking architecture, and sophisticated interiors and amenities have proven to be a willing combination, as FIVE is already two-thirds sold!
"We are pleased with how enthusiastically the home-buying public has received FIVE, and we are delighted with its immediate success," said Graywood's Chief Operating Officer, Stephen Price. "Along with MOD, we are proud that FIVE is leading the rejuvenation of the Yonge Street area south of Bloor by offering something new while honoring the past."
FIVE is the first condominium by Five St. Joseph Developments Ltd. - a joint venture between Graywood Developments Ltd. and the newly formed MOD Developments Inc. MOD is led by industry veteran Gary Switzer, the former head of high-rise development at Great Gulf Homes who spearheaded several award-winning landmark condominiums in the city, and Graywood is the renowned developer of The Ritz‑Carlton, Toronto.
Rising to 45 storeys of glass punctuated by an undulating pattern of balconies, FIVE's contemporary exterior design by Hariri Pontarini Architects incorporates components of the existing heritage architecture. The tower's podium includes several small shops that have lined Yonge Street since the 1880s and are undergoing a restoration by ERA Architects to house new retail venues. Plus, ERA is restoring a four-storey 1905 Gothic Revival warehouse façade on historic tree-lined St. Joseph Street that will become the condominium's entry. The top of the podium will include a roof garden designed by Janet Rosenberg and Associates.
Interiors by Cecconi Simone Inc. encompass amenities that speak to the edgy sophistication of the urban professionals and entrepreneurs buying here. "FIVE ON FIVE" offers the complete package for fitness and fun, and "THE GARDEN ON TWO" is a tempting urban escape.
Choices range from heritage lofts to tower suites, with studios, one-bedroom, one-bedroom + den, two-bedroom and two-bedroom + den layouts, in sizes from 400 to 1,400 sq. ft. Prices start from the mid-$200s.
The Cecconi Simone-designed sales centre and model suite are located within the historic warehouse at 5 St. Joseph Street, just west of Yonge. Sales centre is open Monday to Thursday from noon to 6, weekends noon to 5, closed Fridays and holidays.
