First-time buyers find their new home at Fresh Towns in Ottawa

We recently caught wind of a story about two happy purchasers who just found their new home at Fresh Towns in Ottawa by Greatwise Developments!

Not only did Alison and Mackenzie find their new home, it’s also their first home! They are currently renting a one-bedroom unit at Greatwise Developments’ Qualicom Woods Crossing. When they decided they were comfortable buying, they were happy to hear about Fresh Towns.

“We’re living in a great location, which is calm without being way out in the suburbs, yet still close to downtown, transit and amenities,” says Alison. “It’s difficult to find new builds within the Ottawa city limits, so we think it’s amazing that Greatwise is developing this site.”

Mackenzie is an aerospace engineer who commutes just five minutes to work, and Alison is a teacher with a slightly longer commute, but they both love the neighbourhood because of the convenient amenities, restaurants and food festivals.

They went the new construction route for a couple reasons; it gives them time to save because their tentative occupancy is scheduled for June 2019, and they also don’t have to deal with some of the potential issues of buying resale.

“We didn’t want to have to deal with old issues in a resale home. This way, we have no worries about renovating or poor wiring or asbestos. Everything will be fresh and new,” Mackenzie explains.

Alison and Mackenzie purchased the Byward townhome, a 1,283 square foot, two-bedroom, two-bathroom model.

“This is a great size for us,” says Alison. “We live in a one-bedroom condo right now, so we’re looking forward to more space, yet our new home size won’t be overwhelming. We like contemporary furnishings, cool dark tones, plus some metals and woods, so it will be fun to decorate.”

The Fresh Towns sales team has hosted a couple exciting events with future residents and prospective purchasers, so we’re not surprised to hear Alison and Mackenzie had a great homebuying experience. Alison says, “Everyone at the Fresh Towns Presentation Centre has been great. The purchasing process was straightforward; the staff always responds in a timely fashion.”
