Fairground Lofts: Official Groundbreaking Celebration
By Lucas on Jun 06, 2013
On Wednesday, June 5, 2013, the Newinhomes.com team headed out to 8161 Kipling Ave. in Vaughan to celebrate the official groundbreaking of Wycliffe Homes’ community, Fairground Lofts. In addition to friends, family, and purchasers, two local Councillors and the Mayor of Vaughan came out to help celebrate this great milestone.

Opening remarks at Fairground Lofts’ groundbreaking
The speakers included Jared Bensky, Tony Carella, Maurizio Bevilacqua, and Gary Bensky. Each expressed thanks to the local community, and shared their excitement for the construction of Fairground Lofts.
Mayor Bevilacqua stated: “Two years ago, MoneySense Magazine rated cities on standard of living and quality of life, and we were ranked 102. Last year, the new rankings came out and we’re ranked 23rd. That’s the biggest jump ever recorded in that ranking’s history. Council and I, we take no credit, but we do say, all the time, how blessed we are to have leadership within the community – builders, developers, and other community leaders who actually make that happen. And so, I want to thank you [motions to the Benksys and everyone in the crowd]. I want to thank you for being partners in developing this incredible city of ours.”
Gary Bensky was the last one to hit the podium: “We have a real niche project here. The heritage aspect is what drove us to the old factory look, and I think it appeals to the young, and that’s great. The train goes by a couple times a day – feels like downtown. This is downtown Vaughan, although it’s Woodbridge, but Woodbridge is the centre of the universe as far as Wycliffe is concerned [laughs from the crowd]. So, I thank you all for coming out to celebrate. I can tell you that there’s a few units left, and we’re enthusiastic about getting going and delivering what we say.”
Celebrating at the Fairground Lofts Presentation Centre
After the groundbreaking, everyone headed down the street to 177 Woodbridge Ave. to continue the celebration at the Fairground Lofts Presentation Centre. Drinks were handed out, servers made their rounds with tasty hors d’oeuvres, and there was even a tower of cupcakes with little Fairground Lofts logos on top of them!
Everyone mingled, purchasers showed their friends which unit they bought, and some interested parties toured the model and got some extra info about Fairground Lofts. The Presentation Centre was packed, and people were smiling and having a good time – it couldn’t have gone better.
