Expect spring weather to be in full swing very soon!

This has been a long, freezing winter with a ton of snow...and it’s not over. This week is supposed to be extremely cold! But, it is March, so the first day of spring is only a few weeks away!
As the season’s change, we like to shift some of our feature posts to seasonal tips, and we’re always excited about the start of spring. So excited that we’ll be focusing on spring related home tips for all of March AND April.
We’ve been battered by snow storms here in the Greater Toronto Area, but according to The Weather Network, we can expect spring to hit us in full swing by mid- to late-March. That’s music to our ears!
When the snow starts to melt and the green starts to pop up, it inspires all sorts of home projects and decorating ideas. We’ll be hearing from interior designer Jo-Ann Capelaci about some spring decor trends to keep an eye on this year, and we’ll also have some information from Canada’s gardening guru, Mark Cullen, about the upcoming Canada Blooms show.
Of course, we’ll still be keeping a close eye on the typically busy spring market. We’ve already heard about a few new home openings and releases planned for this spring (sharing more details soon), and with January 2019 sales outperforming the year before, we’re eager to see how spring activity picks up.
At the end of last month, Patricia Arsenault, Altus Group’s Executive Vice President, Data Solutions, said “This year is starting off on a positive note. The improvement in new home sales over last January is consistent with our outlook for somewhat higher annual sales in the GTA this year, following the drop in 2018.”
And according to the latest monthly home sales report from the Canadian Real Estate Association, price growth in the Greater Golden Horseshoe is holding steady and buyers have regained confidence in the market, following a year of new policy and rising interest rates.
