Estates on the Ravine: Coming to Markham in Spring 2015
By Lucas on Nov 27, 2014
Over the last few years, Markham has become known for being home to some of the most luxurious low-rise communities in Southern Ontario. With the recent announcement that Fairgate Homes will be releasing an exclusive collection of just nine luxury estates in the city, the standard of luxury is in for a boost.
Fairgate is building a private, forested enclave called the Estates on the Ravine. The community will feature a parkette with bench seating, and a beautifully landscaped entrance off Houghton Boulevard. The large lots will back onto a tributary of the Rouge River and a heavily wooded ravine. With no through traffic, the Estates on the Ravine will be a peaceful getaway that you will be proud to call home.
The nine unique estates will boast heritage-style architecture, complementing the historical buildings of Old Town Markham. The estates range from 4,000 to 5,000 square feet, and will offer an extensive selection of premium features and finishes that discerning homebuyers have come to expect from luxury communities in Markham.
Estates on the Ravine in Old Town Markham
Located at Markham Road and Highway 7, Estates on the Ravine is situated in a very interesting part of Markham. This is where nature meets urban, it’s where you have the perfect mix of parks, conservation areas and golf courses, and shopping, schools, and main transportation arteries.
First of all, having easy access to a selection of top tiered schools is a must for any family in search of a new neighbourhood to call home. You will be pleased to know that Estates on the Ravine is close to a number of schools, including St. Patrick Elementary, Roy H Crosby Public School, James Robinson Public School, St. Joseph Catholic Elementary, and many more. There are also many secondary schools, such as Markham District High School and St. Brother Andre Catholic High School.
The majority of your daily amenities can be found along Markham Road, so everything is only a few minutes away. Some of the neighbourhood amenities are even within walking distance! As far as grocery stores go, you have a few options: You can either head north to M&M Meat Shops or The Garden Basket Food Markets, head east to Markham Fine Foods, or go west to Walmart Markville Supercentre or Loblaws Superstore.
Just north of Highway 7 on Markham Road, there are many bank institutions, including Bank of Montreal, RBC Royal Bank, and Scotiabank. There are also many restaurants in the neighbourhood; whether you’re in the mood for Italian cuisine, sushi, some good ol’ reliable bistro fare, or maybe just something convenient to pick up on the way home after a long day’s work, you’re well covered.
For the golfer in the family, the closest course is Markham Green Golf Club, which features a 9-hole championship course along the Rouge River that will surely put even the most talented linksman to the test. Of course, you will only need to drive a few minutes to visit other nearby golf courses, including Cresthaven Golf Club, Remington Parkview Golf and Country Club, and York Downs Golf and Country Club.
