Discussing the latest phases of Emerald City with Rafael Lazer

ELAD Canada has started construction at The Colours of Emerald City and recently unveiled the latest tower, Fifth on the Park. We had the opportunity to ask ELAD’s CEO, Rafael Lazer, a few questions about the master-planned condo community in North York.

Newinhomes.com (NIH): How is construction going at The Colours of Emerald City? Are there any units still available? If so, how many and what are prices starting at?

Rafael Lazer (RL): We broke ground and have commenced the work on the underground level of the project. We anticipate the completion of the work by June 2017. We successfully pre-sold most of the units in the tower; however, there are still units available starting in the mid $200s.

NIH: Fifth on the Park will be launching this fall. Will the floor plans at this condo be similar to The Colours of Emerald City?

RL: Fifth is a modern, sleek 24-storey point tower with suites varied from 486 square feet, one-bedroom to 818 square feet two-bedroom suites. Of course, our experience and the feedback received from the successful previous phases at Emerald City (over 1,370 suites sold) has been taken into account when we designed this beautiful tower. There are some new “surprises” like the 1+flex suites with one or two bathrooms and more.

Arcade room

NIH: These two condos will share amenity spaces. What inspired the old school arcade room?

RL: Yes. Most of the amenities will be shared between the two buildings (The Colours of Emerald City and Fifth on the Park). There will be some exclusive amenities at Fifth, like the wifi lounge and guest suite.

The arcade and games centre, as well as the karaoke and theatre rooms, are new additions to the amenity floor and it’s going to be fun! Our amenities also include a swimming pool, hot tub, his and hers change rooms and saunas, outdoor dining and BBQ area, lounge, fitness room and day and night concierge to satisfy our large variety of clients (from young professionals, families and empty nesters following this unique lifestyle).

NIH: The Four Seasons public art by Douglas Coupland was a big hit. Will The Colours of Emerald City and Fifth on the Park have any new public art?

RL: The Four Seasons public art is following the entire masterplan community of Emerald City.

NIH: Now that Emerald City is on its fifth condo, can you give us a description of the kinds of buyers the master-planned community has attracted?

RL: Our clientele spectrum is wide and diverse; we have young professionals and first-time buyers taking advantage of this growing community, families coming to enjoy the area amenities like the great schools, parks, Fairview Mall and brand new Parkway Forest Community Centre that just opened, as well as empty nesters looking to upgrade to a new community with a condo living lifestyle and amenities.

All enjoy the convenience of the great location next to the 401 and DVP/404 highways, and the short walk to Don Mills subway station.

NIH: What has been the one special thing that every homebuyer loves about the Emerald City community?   

RL: Emerald City is a composition of many details making this developing community one of the most attractive and desirable in Toronto; the unique public art, the approximately 50,000 square foot Parkway Forest Community Centre and the new outdoor aquatic centre (under construction).

Also, the convenience of being next to the highways and with a short walk to the subway, having the Emerald City community located across the street from Fairview Mall, the green views, the modern design and abundance of beautiful amenities and more…all these make the project the success it is. Fifth on the Park

NIH: What are some of the facilities available to residents at the Parkway Forest Community Centre?

RL: The newly built Community Centre is becoming the hub of the community. The complex has a full-size gymnasium, YMCA daycare, weight room, fitness studio with change rooms and lockers, walking track, teaching garden, teaching kitchen, youth space, and multi-purpose rooms, and currently under construction an outdoor aquatic centre.
