A pocket of Toronto that has started to really pick up steam is the Junction, a neighbourhood framed by St. Clair Ave. at the north, Runnymede Rd. to the west, Keele St. to the east, and High Park on the south.Recently, we learned about plans to redevelop the former 'Tower Motors' site on Sterling Ave. into a cool mixed-use building, featuring great design, heritage aspects, and retail. We have also seen a proposal submitted by TAS Design Build to redevelop an old low-rise industrial building at 299 Campbell Ave. into boutique condominiums. Two great potential developments that could be key to the Junction’s turnaround. Well, as the saying goes, “good things come in three.”In an application submitted to the City of Toronto, Developer, Gairlock, is aiming to bring a third boutique condominium to 383 Sorauren Ave. Gairlock plans to build a mixed-use, 11-storey building with upwards of 160 new residential units, with two-storey townhouses integrated into the first two floors. There will also be just under 100 parking spaces in a below grade garage. Gairlock has brought on architectsAlliance to design the building, and have already offered some striking preliminary images.

383 Sorauren Ave. is a site that has some serious potential. Currently a low-rise commercial building, the area is in the midst of a transformation, seeing new businesses and residents coming to the area.We are still a while away from launch, so the plans that have been presented are still subject to change, but its nice to see developers focusing on key areas outside the downtown core, like The Junction.Keep an eye on the Toronto Star's NewInHomes.com, we hope to have more information on this great project as it becomes available.
