A Day with BolDe Imaging Group
By Lucas on Apr 10, 2013
The Monthly Theme here at the NewInHomes.com Blog is “Suppliers,” and our trip over to BolDe Imaging Group is the first installment in this very exciting series.
We met with co-owners Lucio DeClavasio and George Berbilis to discuss their role in the new-home building industry.
Who is BolDe Imaging Group?
To start off, Lucio explained exactly what BolDe does: “We’re a one-stop shop for the builder/developer industry. We do field signs, hoarding, banners, A-frames, flagpoles, and the interiors and exteriors of sales centres. Not only do we work with the builders and developers directly, we work with their advertising agencies.”
Obviously, we had to ask which builders and developers they are working with. George got the ball rolling, just naming a few off the top of his head: “We’re working with Cresford Developments at Lofts 399, NXT, Casa, MYC, and 1000 Bay. We’re also printing and installing a lot for Empire Communities at Rain Condos in Oakville, The Mark in Markham, and Eau du Soleil in the Humber Bay area. That’s just a couple - we work with Pinnacle, Aspen Ridge, and Daniels a lot too - oh, and we’re also doing all the printing at Dundee Kilmer’s Canary District.”
Lucio continued: “We’re also doing work with Pemberton at Bluwater, SkyCity, U Condos, Neon, and a new one of theirs opening soon in Mississauga, called Metcalfe. Arista, Fieldgate, and Greenpark are others that we print for.” With a smirk and a chuckle, Lucio added that he “hears it’s really nice working with Monarch and Tridel.” The above is just to name some of the builders and developers that BolDe is working with. The list is pretty long.
Some of the agencies that they work with are industry mainstays, including Montana Steele, The Brand Factory, Drive Agency, and Guidelines to name a few.
BolDe’s printing and installation
If you live in Toronto, you know that hoarding and condo/home signage can be found on almost any given street – that’s a lot of printing. According to George and Lucio, printing up to 100 4’x8’ boards in one day is not unusual.
To get a scope of BolDe’s printing possibilities, their largest project so far was 8,000 square feet of hoarding, and the smallest was a 2”x2” decal for a hard hat. That’s quite the spectrum. As you can see by the photos, these printers are huge and have a wide range of printing capabilities.
Since BolDe is doing a major portion of the printing for new homes in the GTA, we had to ask where most of their work is being done. George said that, “It’s about a 75 - 25 split between downtown and the suburbs. 75% being downtown - most of our work is for high-rises.” Lucio added, “Most of our work is for high-rises, but not just downtown. We do a lot of hoarding in Mississauga, Barrie, Brampton, Burlington, Oakville...we’re everywhere. Our typical boundaries are London to Kingston and Barrie to Niagara Falls.”
BolDe on the housing market
Being one of the largest printers for the new-home building industry in the GTA, Lucio and George are in a position to view the housing market from a very different angle. If business is good, then the market is healthy…and business is good!We would like to thank Lucio DeClavasio and George Berbilis of BolDe Imaging Group for their time. Hopefully, we will be tagging along on an installation job sometime this month, so stay tuned for more photos and info!Visit our Facebook page to see more photos of BolDe’s shop.
