Daniels and Habitat Toronto Team Up at Cinema Tower

Habitat for Humanity partner family Alice, mother Ping Min and father Frank Zhang cut the ribbon at their new home in Cinema Tower Condominiums by the Daniels Corporation while Daniels’ Executive Vice President Niall Haggart, Ward 20 City Councillor Adam Vaughan and Sean Gadon, Toronto’s Director of Affordable Housing look on.
The Daniels Corporation and Habitat for Humanity Toronto recently held a key dedication ceremony to welcome the Zhang-Min family to Cinema tower.
As generous contributors to non-profit causes, especially when housing is involved, Daniels has arranged for two suites at Cinema Tower to be contributed to Habitat for Humanity Toronto. Frank and his wife, Ping, and their teenage daughter, Alice, are the first family to receive the keys to their new home in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment District. “We are so happy to be moving into this brand new building,” Ping said. “It’s close to my husband’s workplace so it’s very convenient for us.”
Ene Underwood, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Toronto, said in a recent release: “We are deeply appreciative of our ongoing partnership with Daniels. The Cinema Tower project is a great example of how innovative partnerships can push the boundaries of affordable housing and further our mission of mobilizing community partners, like Daniels, to make the dream of homeownership a reality for low-income families.”
A happy occasion for all with (L-R) Sean Gadon, Toronto Director of Affordable Housing; partner family father Frank Zhang; Habitat CEO Ene Underwood; mother Ping Min; daughter Alice; and Daniels Executive Vice President Niall Haggart.
Daniels Executive Vice President, Niall Haggart, said, “For us, successful business and social responsibility go hand in hand. Together with Habitat, we are demonstrating that affordable housing can be achieved, and we are thrilled to welcome the Zhang-Min Family home to Cinema Tower!”
Daniels is no stranger to impressive charitable contributions. In 2008, Daniels donated a significant portion of land in Etobicoke for Habitat Canada to build 10 new homes. This was and is the largest donation of land by a private company in Habitat Canada’s history.
