Out of all the different awards handed out by the new home industry in Ontario, the Tarion Awards of Excellence are the only ones solely determined by actual homeowners.
Recently, Tarion announced the winners of the 2014 Awards of Excellence. The winners were decided by a comprehensive survey sent out to 46,800 new homeowners who took possession of their homes in 2013. The survey covered the entire homebuying process from the signing of the Agreement of Purchase and Sale, through construction to the pre-delivery inspection, all the way to after-sales service.
There are four categories: High-Rise Builder of the Year, and Large, Medium, and Small Volume Builder of the Year. The Tricar Group, a London-based developer won in the High-Rise category. Guelph-based Fusion Homes won for Large Volume, Klemencic Homes from Trenton won in the Medium Volume category, and Dwyer Homes out of Strathroy took home the Small Volume Builder of the Year award.
“Congratulations to the 2014 Tarion Awards of Excellence recipients. These builders demonstrate that excellent customer service can be an asset to your business and will have a lasting effect on home buyers,” said the Honourable Tracy MacCharles, Minister of Consumer Services.
For the first time in the history of the Tarion Awards of Excellence, Tarion interviewed the four winners, highlighting the feeling of having satisfied purchasers determine their position as the best in customer service.
The winners’ reactions are genuine and makes it clear that a Tarion Award of Excellence is certainly something for which to strive. After all, a homebuilder is only as successful as its homeowners.
