Chaz.Yorkville in Toronto Climbing Fast
By Lucas on Mar 14, 2014
We last stepped foot on the Chaz.Yorkville construction site back in July 2013; it was 45 degrees celsius - too hot for the workers to be out there. This time, it was -23 degrees celsius with the wind chill, and believe us, Chaz.Yorkville has come a long way since last summer, so the wind is definitely a factor.
Construction progress at Chaz.Yorkville
Last July, 45 Charles Ltd. and Project Manager Edenshaw Homes' Chaz.Yorkville was on the mezzanine level, and a lot of work was still being done on the parking levels. At the time, they were looking forward to reaching the fourth floor so that they could raise the crane.
Since eight months ago, Chaz.Yorkville has reached the 23rd floor! The window installation has just begun on floor 16, and the suites’ rough-in work has just commenced. Chaz.Yorkville’s scheduled completion is a year from now, and even with this harsh winter, the crew is still on track!
We also got the opportunity to visit the 17th floor to take in the view. Charles is an interesting street; it bridges Yonge Street and University Avenue, two of Toronto’s main north-south roads, and it is a beehive of construction workers from many different sites. Yet, this view shows how Charles has remained its own private street, somehow becoming a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle surrounding it.
About Chaz.Yorkville
Once Chaz.Yorkville is complete, it will stand 47 storeys and feature over 500 suites. The suites will range from 378 to 1,275 square feet, not including private outdoor space, which the majority of the units offer.
A few of the spectacular interior features and finishes include custom designed cabinetry by Cecconi Simone, European appliances in the chef-designed kitchens, 9’ ceilings, imported high performance wide-planked engineered wood flooring, and floor-to-ceiling windows to brighten up your cozy, yet contemporary living spaces.
