If you live in or around Toronto, you have heard about the
Canary District by Dundee Kilmer. We have gone for three construction tours of the master plan over in the West Don Lands, we have visited the sales centre, but what we haven’t done in a while is actually take a better look at the very first residential phase - the
Canary District Condos.
The Design of Canary District Condos
Canary District Condos will boast two mid-rise towers, connected by a podium of townhomes, with a central landscaped courtyard exclusively for residents. Comprised of translucent glass, charcoal grey limestone, and steel,
Canary District Condos will promote a modern environment, while still respecting the industrial past of the West Don Lands.
What we really love about the Canary District is that the entire area is designed to encourage alternative modes of transportation - be it walking, cycling, or anything else - and the architects, KPMB, took that into consideration when designing Canary District Condos. Floor-to-ceiling windows will wrap around the entire base of the building, lowering the impact that the building makes at street level. This will create a better walking experience for everyone in the neighbourhood.
The Units of Canary District Condos
At Canary District Condos, Dundee Kilmer is offering a wide variety of unit types, ranging from studios to two-bedroom lofts to two-bedroom townhomes. The sizes of the units at Canary District Condos range from 405 to 1,475 square feet.
Munge Leung is responsible for the stunning interior design at
Canary District Condos. Some of the highlighted features and finishes include high quality engineered hardwood flooring, your choice of premium quality quartz, European style appliances, porcelain tiling, luxurious deep soaker tubs, and 9’ ceiling.
The Canary District Neighbourhood
Everyone knows how amazing the
Canary District is going to be.
Canary District Condos is the first phase of housing that is currently under construction, but there are a number of other buildings that are quickly rising! The
Canary District will feature a new George Brown College residence, a giant YMCA, and affordable rental housing and market condominiums to come in the future.
A very special neighbourhood amenity of the Canary District is the new 18-acre Don River Park that will be opening very soon! Don River Park will feature a multi-functional pavillion and activity areas, such as a toboggan hill and children’s playground.
The Canary District master plan is the rise of the east end, and
Canary District Condos is your chance to be a part of it from the beginning. To learn more about Canary District Condos, register here!
