Canadian household net worth hits all-time high
By Lucas on Jun 22, 2016
The Canadian household net worth reached an all-time high in the first quarter of 2016, according to Trimart Research Corporation.
The market value of household net worth increased 3.8% compared to the same period last year, hitting $9.63 trillion. High home prices supported a jump in real estate value. Canadian home prices continue to rise and sales are strong, despite a recent warning from the Bank of Canada that a correction is on the horizon. Trimart believes that there is no sign of market deterioration at this time.
Listed below are a few notable low-rise sites of the last month:
Mayfield Village by Regal Crest Homes
Coming in first place on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list is Mayfield Village, the successful new home community in Brampton by Regal Crest Homes. Last month there were 32 sales at the community. Mayfield Village features 20’ and 25’ townhomes, 30’ semis, and 38’ and 45’ detached homes, ranging from 1,676 to 3,174 square feet. Prices start from $484,900.
Alton Village West by Sundial Homes
Following closely with 31 sales last month is Alton Village West in Burlington by Sundial Homes. The community features 31’ and 36’ detached homes, ranging from 1,743 to 3,295 square feet, with prices starting from $849,990. It’s not surprising to see Burlington on the Hot Spots list since MoneySense Magazine recently ranked Burlington as the second best place to live in all of Canada!
Springvalley by Royal Pine Homes
Since Brampton is the most popular city in the Total Market Area (TMA) for new low-rise sales, it makes sense that there’s another Brampton community featured. With 24 sales last month, Springvalley Village by Royal Pine Homes takes the third position. The semis and 38’ detached homes have sold out, and there is a new release of 50’ detached homes coming soon. There are a few 46’ detached homes available, ranging from 3,180 to 3,610 square feet, with prices from $949,990.
Arbor Peaks by Great Gulf
Fourth place is taken by Arbor Peaks, a new home community in Milton by Great Gulf that saw 12 sales last month. The community features 21’ townhomes, semis, and 36’ detached homes, ranging from 1,625 to 2,620 square feet. Prices start from $589,990.
Widdicombe & Eglinton by Fernbrook Homes
The final position on the weekly Trimart Hot Spots list is taken by Widdicombe & Eglinton, a luxury townhome community in Etobicoke by Fernbrook Homes. The townhomes range from 2,248 to 2,625 square feet and prices start from $829,990.
