BILD High-Rise Project of the Year is a Smart Choice!

With the 35th annual BILD Awards over a week behind us, we’re continuing to highlight a few of the big winners of the evening. This time, we would like to tip our hats to Canderel Residential Inc. for walking away with High-Rise Project of the Year for YC Condos in Toronto!

YC Condos, located near Yonge and College, will join a collection of Canderel developments, including College Park 1 and 2, as well as Aura, Canada’s tallest residential building. At the official groundbreaking ceremony of YC Condos last December, Dhanji announced that they sold 173 units in the first five days, then another 347 units in February 2014. Basically, in two months, they sold over 90% of the units. When the penthouses launched in April 2014, they sold 55% in the first two months, and then they only had six remaining by the start of construction. With the addition of YC Condos in the College Park neighbourhood, Canderel has developed nearly 3,000 units in the area.

Aside from the interesting architectural design and the amazing suites, there is one more reason YC Condos stood out from the pack this year. Last summer, Canderel announced that they were partnering with Samsung SDS and True Marque Group of Companies to integrate Samsung Smart Home Technology into their suites at YC Condos.
This gives the residents of YC Condos the ability to control practically everything in their suite from a single app on their smart device. As standard, every single suite comes with a door lock that can be unlocked with the app. As upgrades, residents can control their sound system, television, blu-ray, security cameras, and lighting. There is also an upgrade available for a wall pad that controls everything, including your door camera and you can even call the elevator from it. The best part about the Samsung upgrades is that you don’t have to include them at the time of purchase, you can upgrade piece by piece after you’ve moved in.
With all the talk of smart technology, the Internet of Things, and wearables, Canderel is ahead of the game in the new home industry.
