Being an innovative homebuilder, Geranium Homes hosted a Hard Hat Tour for homebuyers and prospective purchasers. The tour was led by Louie Morizio, Vice President of Geranium Homes, as well as Brent Shaw, general site superintendent, and Bill Jewel, site superintendent. They toured a 4,500 square foot executive home at Copperstone in Ballantrae, one of Geranium’s sold out luxury communities.“We place a great deal of importance on the quality of our construction materials and the techniques we use to ensure our homes are built better than Ontario Building Code, a program we’ve named Geranium Green Plus,” explains Morizio. “The Hard Hat Tour provides a lot of important information about what goes into our homes behind the drywall and explains the benefit to the future residents. We cover items such as engineered raised heel trusses, our approach to energy-efficiency, how we protect against drafts, and many more elements all of which add up to fewer service issues after move-in and greater homeowner satisfaction.” Geranium Homes Hard Hat Tour.Everyone in attendance received a booklet titled, “Construction & Craftsmanship,” which covered all the material on the tour. That way, people could go home and review what they learned about the construction and design of their new home.We recently discussed how building performance is becoming more important ever to homebuyers in the GTA, across Southern Ontario, and around the world. One of the major global shifts that is occurring is that people are actually starting to care about how their home is built. There is a lot going on behind the drywall - it’s not just about what you can see in the home. Homebuyers want to know that they are receiving a quality built home and that energy efficiency is taken into consideration during the designing and building processes.Another global shift that is happening is that building codes and building standards are becoming more strict. It’s the builders out there like Geranium Homes that have gone out of their way to surpass building code standards with programs like Geranium Green Plus. Geranium has clearly recognized that the Ontario Building Code is due for an update and they have taken it upon themselves to build better quality communities for the people who care about having an energy efficient home. Louie Morizio of Geranium Homes leads the tour.Geranium’s Hard Hat Tour was planned perfectly with the launching of Bloomington Woods, the builder’s third estate living community in Whitchurch-Stouffville. Like Copperstone, the homes of Bloomington Woods will be built and designed according to the Geranium Green Plus philosophy. Many of the prospective purchasers on the tour have registered for Bloomington Woods. The new community will feature a selection of two-storey singles and bungalows-with-lofts, ranging from 2,990 to 6,006 square feet. The homes will be situated on 3/4-acre lots and will start at $1.3 million. There are just 14 lots available at Bloomington Woods and 12 floor plans. Every home in the community will be unique.A few impressive features and finishes include gas fireplaces, upgraded cabinetry, granite countertops and tile, pre-finished stained oak strip hardwood flooring, and a variety of ceiling types, such as cathedral and vaulted. But remember, it’s not all about what’s visible - there’s a lot going on behind those walls! Hard Hat Tour AttendeesLearn more about Bloomington Woods
