Bedroom designs that will amp up the romance
By Jo-Ann Capelaci on Feb 09, 2017
Are you happy with the design of your bedroom or have things gotten stale? I find that often the master bedroom is the last room of the house that couples decorate. It seems that the design focus is usually on rooms that other people see or spaces for children. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, check out a few different bedroom designs to help breathe a little life into your master bedroom.
A new bedroom would be an amazing Valentine’s Day gift that you and your partner can work on together. To give you a helping hand, I’ve listed six different ways to amp up the romance in your bedroom with smart and trendy design elements.
1) Choose silks in dark, rich jewel tones
Wake up your sensual perception by layering your bed in rich colours of purple, burgundy and fuschia.
2) Add lace, ruffles and accents of crystal

White lace is a traditional element and it’s quite romantic. Add a black feature wall if you want to enhance the masculinity in the space. The lace and black will look amazing together.
3) Heat things up with accents of pinks and reds
Red is most commonly associated with love and passion. This design brings a sense of playfulness to the room, while also promoting a romantic vibe.
4) Get a four poster bed with a canopy or curtains

Fashion a private sanctuary with a four poster bed and a canopy or curtains. The combination of cushions with tufting and the privacy the curtains create will help you forget that you’re even at home!
5) Use a soothing colour palette and accessorize with a sumptuous fur throw
A soothing colour palette creates a sense of peace and tranquility. Then you can warm things up with a fur throw. Style your bed to look like a spot you want to lounge in for hours.
6) Create drama by mixing textures of charcoal hues

Set the stage with varying textures and hues of charcoal throughout all the elements of your bedroom design; bedding, headboard, area rug, drapery and accessories. Add in some beautiful moulding on your bed wall to increase the splendour.
Whether you are thinking of a complete bedroom design or simply incorporating a few elements, I hope I have inspired you for this Valentine’s Day. If you are looking for other ideas to create a sexy bedroom design then you will find more inspiration on our Pinterest board.
