Barrie and Whitby are real estate markets to watch!
By Lucas on May 10, 2017
The latest report from Trimart Research Corporation highlights Barrie and Whitby as a couple of the hottest new low-rise markets in the Total Market Area (TMA) at the moment.
The Gallery by Barrie’s largest builder, Pratt Homes, was a huge success and it’s now sold out. And Mattamy Homes made waves in Whitby with Queen’s Common; the townhomes and detached homes are currently sold out, but there’s a new release coming soon!
Speaking of new Whitby communities, Whitby Meadows by Arista Homes, DECO Homes, Fieldgate Homes, Great Gulf, OPUS Homes, and Paradise Developments is one of the town’s most highly anticipated projects.
Listed below are a few notable low-rise sites of the last month:
The Gallery by Pratt Homes
Placing first on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list with a tremendous 230 sales last month is The Gallery by Pratt Homes. As mentioned, this Barrie development is now sold out. The condo townhomes ranged from 800 to 1,454 square feet with prices from $253,990. We wouldn’t be surprised if a few first-time buyers found a home here.
Downsview Park by Mattamy Homes
Taking the second position is Downsview Park, a condo project in Toronto by Mattamy Homes. The units range from 555 to 1,226 square feet with prices from $279,990. Again, we feel like this is another opportunity for first-time buyers; they get less space for their money compared to The Gallery, but they’re also closer to downtown Toronto.
Rosedale Village by Pemberton Group
Coming in third is Rosedale Village, a Brampton community by Pemberton Group. With 20 sales last month, Rosedale Village is now sold out! The community featured 30’, 40’, 42’, and 47’ detached homes as well as townhomes, ranging from 1,135 to 2,205 square feet. Prices started at $450,900.
Stonebury Gates by Coughlan Homes
Tying for third with 20 sales last month is Stonebury Gates by Coughlan Homes. This Ajax community features townhomes and 35’ detached homes ranging from 1,576 to 2,872 square feet, with prices starting from $589,996. Durham real estate is heating up and prices are on the rise!
Grand River Woods by Fernbrook Homes
The final place on Trimart’s Hot Spots list is Grand River Woods, a Fernbrook Homes community in Cambridge. Grand River Woods features 30’, 35’, and 40’ detached homes ranging from 1,420 to 3,360 square feet. Prices start from $369,990. That’s right, there are still detached homes in the TMA that start in the $300,000s!
