August and September to be Huge for the New Home Market
By Lucas on Jul 13, 2015
The latest report by Trimart Research Corporation announces that the Total Market Area’s (TMA) new low-rise market will stay strong through July thanks to over 20 new openings and releases in June. As far as new openings and releases go for July, the number is low, but that’s only because builders are preparing for August and September releases, which is traditionally one of the busiest times of the year for the new home market. The busy season combined with a low interest rate is a recipe for a strong sales period.
Listed below are a few notable low-rise sites that have recently seen a lot of traffic:
Wildflowers - via Mattamy Homes
Placing first on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list is Wildflowers, a Mattamy Homes community in Kitchener with a wide range of home types. The remaining village homes and rear lane townhomes range from 1,415 to 1,984 square feet, with prices starting at $259,990. Wildflowers also features two-storey townhomes and 30’, 36’, and 43’ detached homes, which are temporarily sold out, but there will be a new release coming soon!
Townes of Scugog - via Halminen Homes
Coming in second with 20 sales is a community called Townes of Scugog. This community is being built by Halminen Homes in Bowmanville. The community features a collection of townhomes ranging from 1,222 to 1,901 square feet, with prices starting at $296,990.
Southfields - via Monarch
The third spot is taken by Village of Southfields by Monarch, a Caledon community that saw 18 sales recently. The Village of Southfields features townhomes ,semis, and 43’ and 50’ detached homes, ranging from 1,703 to 3,971 square feet. Prices are starting from $413,990. Caledon hasn’t seen that many new home sales this year, but it’s growing in popularity and is becoming a good place to make a significant investment.
Casablanca - via LIV Communities
Taking fourth with 16 sales is Casablanca, a Brampton community by LIV Communities. This project features 40’, 45’, and 50’ detached homes ranging from 2,511 to 4,793 square feet, with prices starting at $699,990. Brampton has over 3,000 year-to-date sales and is of course leading the TMA. No other city is close to this many sales, most of which are under 1,000 sales.
Westminster Highlands - via Reid's Heritage Homes
Slipping into the final spot on this week’s Trimart Hot Spots list with 11 sales is Westminster Highlands, Reid’s Heritage Homes’ Fergus community. Westminster Highlands offers a wide selection of home types, including mid-rise condo units, bungalow townhomes, two-storey townhomes, and 38’, 42’, and 50’ detached homes. The sizes of the homes range from 746 to 3,056 square feet with prices starting at $192,400. The condo section of the community started construction recently, and Reid’s Heritage Homes is currently offering special incentives at the site (until July 31, 2015)!
