Art, Light And Community Greet Residents At Flaire

By on Dec 05, 2011

Why should a lobby be something residents just walk through on their way somewhere else? At Flaire, the designers envisioned a beautiful, functional extension of residents’ suites, an inviting place where they would want to linger, greet friends and be part of their community. Alessandro Munge, with a background in five-star hotels, bars and nightclubs, was a natural to design it.

“It’s really about connecting people,” says Munge, whose design firm Munge Leung has a number of international awards for their work both in hospitality and residential, including numerous Toronto condos.

Flaire’s lobby is an expansive, glass-walled space with a lively, urban vibe, where contemporary sculpture and good books dot the sleek, recessed shelving. The concierge desk backs onto a view of a dramatic sculpture garden that will greet residents as they arrive home each day. An intimate lobby lounge gives residents a friendly indoor place to refresh, take advantage of the Wi-Fi, and still stay connected to the outdoors by the space’s extension into the project’s resort-style entryway. A modern fireplace provides a focal point, while clean-lined, elegant furniture contrasts with the fluid sculpture on the light, veneered wood walls.

Munge also designed the party room, Miami-inspired rooftop terrace, quality kitchens and bathrooms, and open-concept suite layouts. For more information call 416-445-8868 or visit flairecondos.com.
