Art Auction Raises $80,000 for the Nanny Angel Network

On Oct. 18, OPUS Homes and the Ladies of the Brush hosted the first ever “Bitch n’ Paint Art Auction” at Copper Creek Golf Club in Vaughan. The Ladies of the Brush is a group of four wonderful artists: Angie DeGasperis, Grace Bruno D’Alessandro, Mary Gabriele, and Nikki Anderson.
As expected, the event was a huge success! Hundreds of tickets were sold and everyone in attendance was ready to help raise some money for an amazing cause, the Nanny Angel Network (NAN). Once the viewing of the paintings was complete and everyone had a little bit of wine in them, the live auction commenced!
100% of the proceeds went to NAN, a charity dedicated to supplying free in-home childcare relief for mothers diagnosed with or undergoing treatment for cancer. Director of NAN Audrey Guth, gave a passionate and heartfelt speech to begin the live auction. She shared her journey of battling breast cancer, recalling all the struggling mothers she met along the way. A cancer treatment ward is no place for a child, and Guth made it her goal to help as many mothers as possible with professional childcare.
To this date, NAN has helped over 250 families, but they are only able to fully aid about 50% of the families that go to them for help. The childcare professionals are volunteers, but NAN needs funding for equipment and other expenses to help all the families that need them.
Paintings were selling for $1,500, $2,500, even over $4,000! With just over 20 lots, the live auction alone raised just under $45,000 for NAN. With ticket sales, the silent auction, and donations, OPUS Homes and the Ladies of the Brush raised a total of $80,000!
“It is with gratitude that OPUS Homes could be part of this worthy project. It turned into a much larger event than we ever would have imagined,” said OPUS Homes President, Andrea DeGasperis-Ronco. “The generosity of our guests was truly amazing.”
We congratulate OPUS Homes, Ladies of the Brush, NAN, and all the other sponsors that made the “Bitch n’ Paint Art Auction” a tremendous success. It was definitely a night to remember.
