When it comes to waterfront developments, most eyes fall on the master-plans for Toronto’s lakeside communities, but one new condo development that you should really be paying attention to is AQUABLU in Grimsby by Homes By DeSantis.After a very successful grand opening, AQUABLU is already 85% sold, and the Town of Grimsby and AQUABLU team recently celebrated the official groundbreaking. Just a couple weeks before Homes By DeSantis kicked off construction, the Town of Grimsby received a Million Dollar Grant from the Region of Niagara for the West End Waterfront Trail Implementation. This new trail will provide AQUABLU residents with quick and easy access to Cobble Beach and the east side of Casablanca sand beach. “A lot of attention has been paid to what’s going on in the GTA, but Grimsby is going through a tremendous renaissance. Grimsby may not get the same level of attention as the GTA, but with the waterfront investment and long-term demographics opportunities here are equally strong,” says Gabriel DeSantis, President of Homes by DeSantis. “My team has believed in our vision since the lands were acquired. We strive to bring the best and most talented individuals to our company who have the same belief as I, to continue to build Homes by DeSantis’s solid reputation of trust, while reaching industry milestones,” adds DeSantis.
There are 14 floor plans at AQUABLU, featuring one- and two-bedroom layouts, many with dens. Some of the features and finishes at AQUABLU include 9’ ceilings, modern plank laminate flooring, floor-to-ceiling windows, stainless steel appliances, and spacious balconies. AQUABLU also offers a collection of exclusive amenities, such as a sky lounge terrace, a welcoming yet luxurious two-storey lobby, a fitness facility with a yoga studio, a club room, a games room, and underground parking. At the groundbreaking event, Homes By DeSantis also announced the winner of their public art competition. Earlier this year, Homes By DeSantis sent out a Call to Artists, requesting proposals for a centrepiece sculpture design to display in the heart of the roundabout in front of the building entrance. Homes By DeSantis requested that the design represent “old world craftsmanship and new world thinking.” After careful consideration, a winner was selected! Lynn Kelly and Xiaojing Yan from Toronto will be creating their sculpture, titled “Natures’ Bounty” for AQUABLU. We are very excited to see what the design looks like!
