April: Walkability Month is Back!

Well, it looks like spring is finally upon us! The Weather Network is forecasting temperatures as high as 10 degrees celsius for the first couple weeks of April, and hopefully it will only get warmer from there. We know 10 degrees isn’t exactly lounge-by-the-pool weather, but it’s practically summer weather compared to the winter we just had!

So, you’re not spending your evenings and weekends by the pool just yet, but this fresh spring weather is the perfect opportunity to explore some of Toronto’s most walkable neighbourhoods.

That’s right, we’re bringing back the Walkability series. Last year, we visited neighbourhoods like Yonge and Eglinton, the St. Lawrence Market, The Junction, and King West. This year, we’ll be visiting many new areas and even returning to a few to see how much they’ve improved.

Again, we will be using WalkScore.com’s system to rate the neighbourhoods. WalkScore.com has become one of the new home industry’s primary tools for promoting the walkability of the neighoburhood in which they are building. Earlier this year, Fieldgate Homes shared a blog post about how 90 Niagara’s (their new boutique condo in Toronto) neighbourhood scored an 88 on Walkscore.com.
