Spirits soared during the first four days of the 36th annual Toronto International Film Festival, as each evening, a spectacular circus-style aerial show and pyrotechnics display lit up the night sky high above the Cinema Tower construction site, at Adelaide and Widmer Streets.
The City of Toronto was treated to this extravaganza by
The Daniels Corporation, which is developing this new film-inspired condominium. (
Daniels was the builder/developer of TIFF Bell Lightbox and
Festival Tower in partnership with the Reitman Family.) On September 9th, Daniels celebrated the festivities with a red carpet gala for suite owners at Cinema Tower, this award-winning builder’s latest condominium in the city’s new social hub.
Guests showed up decked out in the appropriate bling to nibble, nosh, network and experience, in person, the excitement that Film Festival time brings. Servers wore fun, flashy red bellboy-style outfits and retro pillbox hats, and the eye-popping tent décor included a chandelier from film reels. The culmination of the celebration was the first aerial show, which involved three Circus Orange aerialists performing a human mobile while suspended 50 feet in the air above the Cinema Tower construction site. The five-minute show was an awesome display that captured the excitement of the Festival and the evolving Entertainment District. Daniels presented this free air show twice nightly for four consecutive evenings.
Already well under construction,
Cinema Tower will rise 43 storeys and will encompass 444 suites with phenomenal city and lake views. Suites range in size from 420 to 1,500 square feet, and prices start from the mid $300,000s. Purchasers receive a three-year membership to TIFF Bell Lightbox, with exclusive perks and special privileges such as early access to event tickets. Suite owners will have access to a 12,000 sq. ft. amenity space with a terrace, double-height multi-sport gymnasium with basketball court; steam room; hot tub; and equipped exercise room.
