Deerhurst Golf Cottages to offer an incredible ownership opportunity in Muskoka

Deerhurst Muskoka Skyline Developments

Livable luxury sets the tone at Deerhurst Golf Cottages, the new residential opportunity coming soon from Skyline at Deerhurst Resort in breathtaking Muskoka. These are the first new cottages to be offered for sale at Deerhurst. Imagine owning a gorgeous residence on the beautiful Highlands Golf Course for prices beginning from only $399,900! To envision how warm and inviting life here can be, Skyline enlisted The Design Agency to create furniture package options, and to design interior renderings that showcase many of the available features that can help buyers personalize their spaces.

According to The Design Agency’s Matt Davis, “We appointed the interiors to be cottage like and modern at the same time. We are very familiar with the Muskoka feel, and because the resort is multi-seasonal, we combined warm elements and a play on the lightness and loftiness of the spaces. In the summer, the cottages will have a nice indoor/outdoor feel, and in the winter when there is less natural light, the rooms will feel cosy and homey – like a country estate.”

The result is a brilliant marriage of contemporary and rural that bridges generational appeal, with four layouts to choose from. The main living space has a spacious, open ambience with furnishing choices that add both stability and whimsy. “We always try to use local/regional materials in our design to put our spaces within the context or the surrounding. From this concept, we had the idea of using a locally sourced piece of driftwood to form the fireplace mantel which forms an interesting focal point and perfect conversation piece,” Davis says. “The furniture is comfortably formal, and we opted not to add window treatments, to achieve a sunroom feel with unobstructed views of the changing elements. We see these cottages as a primary or secondary home rather than a vacation refuge for old items. It’s perfect for relaxing and entertaining.”

Bright and refreshing, the light colour palette continues to the bedroom, where vertical panelling on the wall behind the bed differentiates this as a cottage rather than an urban home. “We added slight contemporary twists on traditional materials like beadboard,” Davis says. “The variety of textures is luxurious, and the accents of the dark drapery rod and picture frames introduce just enough contrast.” Even the mirrors over the upscale vanity in the spa-like bathroom offer a rural touch to the contemporary surroundings.

“The key to the décor in these cottages is a play on their context. You know you’re in cottage country, so the design speaks to nature, yet incorporates the warmth and functionality people expect in their home. The furniture and design details are comfortable and not dark.”

Each Golf Cottage will feature an exterior gas line, barbecue, 9’ main-floor ceiling heights, and much higher in the great rooms (as per plan); quality kitchen appliances; imported ceramics; smooth ceilings in the kitchen, laundry and bathrooms; oak handrails and spindles; and a direct-vent natural gas fireplace.

The Golf Cottages offer stunning views of the Highlands Golf Course - one of the two courses at Deerhurst, and one of Canada’s finest. Situated in a tranquil spot away from the main resort area, the cottages are also just a stroll or shuttle-bus ride from boating, pools, the beach, spa treatments, skiing, casual and fine dining, world-class shows, tennis courts, hiking trails and even an air strip. Plus, those who purchase at Deerhurst Golf Cottages will also receive a membership buy-in in the SkyLife program, which offers unprecedented access to the amenities at Skyline’s northern and urban properties.
