A closer look of the model suite at On The Danforth Condos

Ever since we first heard about Diam Developments’ new Toronto condo, On The Danforth, we’ve kept a close eye on the project. In the past, we’ve interviewed Diam President Moninder Khudal, we got a sneak peek of the presentation centre while it was under construction, and we even visited the neighbourhood to see what life will be like in the up-and-coming Danforth Village. Now, for all those who haven’t visited the presentation centre yet, we want to give you a closer look at the incredible model suite.
Diam Developments is featuring The Queen floor plan at the presentation centre; the model suite was a huge hit at both the preview and grand opening of On The Danforth.
“This 882 square-foot, two-bedroom+den model is laid out beautifully and can fit the needs of everyone from a single person to couples and families,” says Carmen Dragomir of esQape Design. “The second bedroom could serve as a guest bedroom, nursery or studio. Owners might use the den as a dining area or home office. These multi-functional spaces make the most of every square foot.”
We really like that the den is somewhat private. Don’t get us wrong, we are 100% for open-concept layouts, but when it comes to having a work space, some people prefer quiet areas to improve concentration.
Touring the model suite will give you the chance to touch, feel, and examine all of the high quality features and finishes that Diam is including at On The Danforth. “People really see the quality,” Dragomir says. “The kitchen island Caesarstone countertop is standard, but the waterfall side panels are upgrades. Other than that, the kitchen features and finishes are standard.”
A few other interior features and finishes that come standard are the 9’ ceilings, 10’ penthouse ceilings, kitchen appliances, and engineered laminate flooring. “The flooring contrasts with the darker kitchen we chose,” explains Dragomir. “With the dark cabinetry resembling furniture and creating a background for the other furniture, the kitchen ties in seamlessly with the rest of the open-concept living area.”
If you look closely at the living room area, you’ll notice a couple accent frames on the walls. “Anyone can add a wall frame like this to add an interesting visual dimension,” says Dragomir. “Empty-nesters and other couples and families often move into a condo having collected items from their travels over the years. This suite is a great example of how you can combine modern décor grounded in transitional, or even in some cases, traditional items. The sofa is a contemporary shape with transitional tufting, and the matching coffee and end table have marble tops with transitional curved metal bases.”
esQape Design does an incredible job putting together a decor scheme that caters to many kinds of buyers. This is often difficult to do because everyone has such different tastes, and even if there is a decor choice that you would change, walking through the model suite will definitely provide some inspiration. “The use of neutrals really helps people personalize their surroundings, because they can change their look with splashes of colour in furnishings and accessories,” Dragomir says.
esQape Design’s expertise comes into play throughout the amenity spaces as well, including the stunning lobby, and the multi-purpose room with a kitchen and private dining area that opens up to an outdoor terrace. Also, Club Danny features a fitness centre and outdoor yoga area, a lounge, a WiFi lounge, and a rooftop terrace with barbecue stations.
