A closer look at the bungalow townhomes at Gates of Kent in Meaford

If you’re looking to live near the shores of Georgian Bay, then you’ll be happy to hear that Reid’s Heritage Homes recently released a new block of bungalow townhomes at Gates of Kent in Meaford.
Gates of Kent has been a very successful community for Reid’s Heritage Homes, so let’s take a closer look at the available bungalow townhomes.
Units 11 to 16 make up a block with four interior townhomes and two end units. This block is currently under construction and two of the units are slated as future models – a Waterton (end) floor plan and a McIntosh (interior) floor plan, both of which offer more than 1,500 square feet of space and two-bedroom layouts. The sales centre is located at Lot 34 – an end unit that is available for touring to experience the Waterton layout.
A perk of purchasing the Waterton pre-construction is that Reid’s Heritage Homes is offering a number of optional changes to the floor plan. The standard kitchen is closed off from the dining area, but you can opt for it to be open. For the bathrooms, you can either have an ensuite, a shared ensuite, or an ensuite and a powder room.
We really like that Reid’s Heritage Homes is building bungalows with lofts. This housing type is often sought out by retirees because single-floor living makes aging in place easier and it’s a great downsizing alternative to moving into a really small unit in a condo building.
The loft can be used as a hobby room, extra storage, or when the kids are visiting for the holidays. Some retirees have a caretaker or one of their children living with them, so the loft and guest suite would make a lot of sense in that scenario.
A few other interior features and finishes at Gates of Kent include quality ceramic tile, engineered hardwood flooring, California ceilings, and a five-piece appliance package (fridge, stove, dishwasher, washer and dryer). Also, all of the homes are ENERGY STAR qualified, saving you money in the long run on hydro bills.
