8 decor tips to bring the summer vibe into your home

Do you like to decorate for the seasons? We have put together eight simple and effective decor tips to infuse some summer into your home in a jiffy.
1) Reupholster
Reupholstering furniture with a bright, large flowered fabric can bring about a summer feeling in your room. Some other summery themes are leaves, fruit, birds and butterflies. Choose bright blues, pinks, oranges and yellows. I love the striking print on this fabric that makes a traditional chair fresh and fun.
2) Add some colour and accessories

Summer is all about feeling light, airy and free. You can achieve these feelings in your home too. White walls and furniture instantly make a space feel renewed. Adding soft pastel accessories will complete the look. Try displaying vases, bowls and plates, and add summer items such as straw hats and flowers.
3) Get nautical

A beach house or nautical theme is a perfect way to bring summer into your home. Use stripes, paddles, anchors, starfish, seashells and ship steering wheels for almost endless possibilities. Blue, orange and white are three colours you’ll want to add to this space.
4) Add table accessories

One way to bring colour into a space is to create table arrangements with bright accessories. Start off by getting colourful baskets to display items. Then choose other colourful items to go into these baskets such as vases with flowers, candles, a clock, picture frames and bowls. Try to use a variety of colour and scale when creating your table arrangement.
5) Don’t forget the console table
Here is another example of creating a summer table arrangement, this time on a console table. Start with a piece of art to ground the arrangement. Add a lamp with a bright shade. Then add flowers and other summer accessories of your choosing. Use summer colours and a variety of heights to keep your table arrangement visually interesting.
6) Add a rug

A bright summery rug is a perfect way to change up and ground your summer space. Bright colours and patterns will add visual interest and can be a statement piece for your room. Use the colours in the rug as a jumping off point when accessorizing the rest of your room.
7) Pick some flowers
A picture perfect and simple way to get that summer feeling into your home is to pick flowers from your yard and make a striking bouquet. No flower garden? Then get in the habit of picking up varying flower bunches with your weekly groceries. The flowers will make any room inviting and vibrant. Pair the flowers with some fresh fruit and you’ll have a wonderful focal point for your room.
8) Choose your pillows wisely

Pillows are a go-to accessory when it comes to adding colour. Fun patterns and bright colours will bring the feeling of summer into your home. Try pillows with sea life, fruit, summer sayings such as “you are my sunshine,” flowers and colourful patterns. Pair these with solid coloured pillows and you’ll create a fantastic summer space.
