35 Wabash in Roncesvalles is undeniably cool

If you spend most of your time discussing Toronto’s housing market, like us, there are a few key terms that you go to when trying to describe a new project. Boutique, modern, contemporary, organic, sleek, innovative - it all depends on the design. Well, this is one of the first townhome communities in Toronto that we’ve come across that is just straight up, undeniably cool.
35 Wabash by Zinc Developments is a high end townhome community in the Roncesvalles area that is currently in the registration phase. It comes to no surprise that RAW Architects are behind the interesting design, and the Design Agency is responsible for the amazing interiors.
The townhome will rise four storeys and be comprised of just 57 units, including eight flats, 24 two-storey sky towns, and 25 two-storey towns with backyards. The sky towns will be located atop the ground floor towns and instead of backyards they will have private rooftop terraces with gas barbecue hook ups.
The floor plans range from 650 to 1,500 square feet and offer one- to three-bedroom layouts, making 35 Wabash ideal for downsizers, young professional couples, and small and medium families!
A few of the stylish features and finishes at 35 Wabash include European style kitchen cabinetry, integrated and stainless steel appliances, 5” wide plank engineered hardwood flooring, quartz countertops, porcelain tile, and outdoor lighting on the balconies and terraces. You’d be surprised at how rare it is to find a balcony that comes with outdoor lighting.
Zinc Developments has made the conscious choice to take a minimalist approach to the amenities offered at 35 Wabash. The residents will have access to a fitness facility, an indoor/outdoor yoga deck, and a beautiful zen garden. We say this is a minimalist approach because you would have more amenities in a mid-rise or high-rise condo, but since this is a townhome project, this is actually more amenities than usual.
35 Wabash in Roncesvalles
You don’t really hear about new housing developments in Roncesvalles too often, mostly because it’s a pretty well developed area with many million dollar estates and there is such a strong sense of identity that if you’re going to develop something new, it better be worthy of the neighbourhood - we think Zinc Developments nailed it.
Roncesvalles is known for its one-of-a-kind bakeries, quaint shops, historic architecture, mature trees, and of course, its proximity to High Park. Though there are large estates and million dollar lots in Roncesvalles, there are also smaller apartments, and this mix of housing brings a vibrancy to the atmosphere that in unrivalled in any other part of Toronto. On a walk along Roncesvalles Avenue, you’ll come across mothers with strollers, university and college students, retirees enjoying a stroll, and couples trying out new trendy restaurants.
