The 2013 Pug Awards: Nominees Announced!
By Lucas on May 02, 2013
The Pug Awards have quickly become one of Toronto’s most recognized awards because it’s all about you, what the public thinks of new buildings in the city.
Things got rolling in 2004 as The Fugly Awards, as a way to highlight some of the ugliest buildings in Toronto, but it has transformed into a way to also celebrate the public’s favourite designs.
Any building completed in 2012 that features more than 50,000 square feet of floor space is eligible. Last year, 83 Redpath won for the Best Residential category, and The Centre for Green Cities at Evergreen Brick Works won the Commercial/Institutional category. The first ever Paul Oberman Award was won by The Shops of Summerhill.
So how does it work? Get yourself an account over at PugAwards.com, check out the list of buildings, and tell them whether you “Love it,” “Like It,” or “Hate It!” It’s pretty easy!
